Favourites of 2012 Pt.2 - Lip Products

Hey everyone! Hope you all had an amazing christmas and got what you asked for! I'm still more than grateful for the amazing time I got to spent with my family and receiving some fabulous presents as well. If you've done a post about your presents yet, share your link, you know how much I love a good nosey :)

Anyway, today I'm sharing my favourite lip products as 2012 has been the year I've started wearing lipsticks on a daily basis and not just applying it to 'see what it would look like', then wipe it all off. I've never been one to go crazy with colours but did enjoy playing around this year and discovered a few shades I never would of tried if it wasn't for some of my fave bloggers :) There's loads I've learnt about makeup this year and I'm really grateful for the tons of great tips&tricks I find on blogs and on YouTube [already feeling a tad soppy now, come on it's the end of another year!

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Perle #107 -  My boyfriend gave this to me as a kind of pre-christmas treat, if that makes sense and I fell in love with it right away. I've already reviewed this baby here if you fancy a read! The packaging is adorable and the lipstick itself feels and smells amazing on my lips, it doesn't stay on as long as some matte shades but it's quite moisturising so I don't mind reapplying every two to three hours. I'm aware they're quite pricey but I'd definitely recommend them if you want to treat yourself!

Revlon Lipbutter in 080 Strawberry Shortcake - I've heard quite a few people saying these are overrated and not worth their pricetag as they are no more than tinted lipbalms. However I don't agree and I love how smooth they feel and actually love the colour payoff as well. Ye, you'll have to reapply almost every hour but on the other hand they don't dry out your lips or cling to dry patches which is great if you suffer from dry lips like me.

H&M Lip Balm Tea&Mint Chocolate - Oh my I get excited typing this haha, I've bought another one of these in the summer sale [read my Quicktip here] and thought I'd test it out, they had three flavours/designs to chose from. When I got home and tried it I couldn't believe how amazing it was and instantly wanted the other two flavours as well. I haven't seen them in any other H&M store since and almost gave up on completing my collection when I spotted these in the same store about a week ago. Needless to say I grabbed them like a crazy lady and rushed to the till ha! How cute is the pot? And it really does smell like Tea&Mint Chocolate, what's not to love?

MUA Lipstick shade #1 - As I already mentioned above, I really loved experimenting with colour this year. So when everyone went crazy about berry/plum/darker toned lipsticks I know I had to jump on the bandwagon without ruining my bank account. This is where MUA comes in. I've raved a lot about their products on my blog and on Twitter and there lipsticks are no exception, for a mere £1 you get an amazingly pigmented lipstick which doesn't smudge or dry out your lips. I've been wearing this almost non stop over the past few weeks and it's easily one of my all time favourite lipsticks.

MUA Intense Kisses Gloss in Sealed with a Kiss - If you haven't tried these yet, it's a gorgeously pigmented gloss which feels amazing on your lips. It's quite creamy but still very light and not at all sticky, which I prefer. The shade Sealed with a Kiss is the perfect nude shade and I carry this around in my handbag all the time as I don't even need a mirror to apply this properly. I didn't expect anything from it when I bought it but I'm really thrilled by this and will purchase a few more shades!

So these are my top five picks, there are actually a few more lip products I enjoyed using but I thought this was quite a good selection. I also knew this would turn out long and don't want to bother you with another 62563 lipsticks ha!

Which has been your favourite lip product this year? What are your all time favourites?

  1. I coudln't agree less about three of these (haven't tried the rest): YSL lipsticks, H&M lip balms & revlon lip butters.
The last two are very moisturizing, love! Looking forward to your other 2012 favourites
