The Lip Product Addict Tag

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well!

You may or may not have noticed my absence during the past month. This was because my dissertation was due yesterday, and I also started my first proper job this month, so I was forced to take a break from blogging, Twitter and Instagram (..to become an adult. I'm not sure how I like this!). I have to admit I enjoyed it at first, simply because all the pressure I put on myself before was gone, but towards the end I really missed blogging and of course interacting with other bloggers! So thank you for bearing with me guys :)

To ease myself back into it, I thought I'd do the Lip Product Addict Tag created by the lovely ladies Amelia Liana and Essie Button. Hope you enjoy!

1. Favourite balm/treatment
This was an easy one. I chose the Nuxe RĂªve de Miel lip balm because it's one of the very few lip balms that actually heals dry and chapped lips. It smells divine and although the texture is quite unusual, it has quickly become a staple in my routine.

2. Best eye-catching red
I thought I didn't own any reds, turns out I own six. Six is a lot for someone who wears red lipstick twice a year, eh? What can I say, I love my coral and pink shades. The Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 is a deep red shade which is perfect for autumn/winter. I also absolutely love the formula of that range, it's moisturising, long-lasting and super pigmented.

3. Best Luxury & Best Drugstore
It was a toss-up between the Dior Addict High Shine lipstick and the YSL Rouge Volupte for luxury. I decided to go for the Dior one in Backstage Pink, simply because it doesn't settle into the fine lines of my lips like the YSL ones tend to do. For drugstore I chose the L'Oreal Color Riche in Julianne's Nude. It's the most perfect pinky-nude lipstick I have ever come across and I've been wearing it every single day for the past three weeks. This has to be one of my favourite lipstick formulas of all time!

4. Best MAC lipstick
Easy! Coral Bliss was the first MAC lipstick I bought and it's my favourite to date. It's a muted coral shade with a Cremesheen finish, perfect for this time of year.

5. The most disappointing
There were a mere two lip products in my ridiculous collection that I thought were a bit of a let down, and even that is only due to the shades. The Revlon ColorBurst lip gloss in Sunbaked and the Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial are both brown-ish shades which look horrible against my skin tone and make my teeth look awfully yellow. Not a good look! Formula-wise, they are both great, which makes it even more disappointing.

6. Liner - yes or no?
Well - no. If I had the patience and time to apply lip liner in the am, I'd say yes, because I think it makes everything look that bit neater, but given that I'm almost always running late, I'm skipping this step.

7. Best gloss?
I'm a lipstick kind of girl and rarely wear gloss, but my favourite has to be the Revlon ColorBurst gloss in the shade Papaya. The pigmentation is great and they are not sticky in the slightest. They also apply easily and I think they are quite similar to Tanya Burr's lip glosses which I love!

8. Something Extra!
I cheekily added in two extra products (I could have chosen ten more to be honest, I really had a tough time here, you see). The first one being the L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipstick in Dating Coral, which is ahh-mazing. It smells lovely and the pigmentation and staying power are great for a sheer lipstick. Another product I just had to add in were the Revlon lip butters, especially Juicy Papaya which is a lovely light peachy shade. I looove me some lip butters!

So these are my picks! I really enjoyed this tag, although it was tough deciding which lipsticks to go for in each category. I'd love to read (or watch, if you did it on YouTube) your answers! Feel free to leave your links in the comments below.

How I use my Real Techniques brushes - Tag

Hiya lovelies! Back in January one of my favourite bloggers Siobhan, who runs A Girl & A Beauty Blog wrote a post about her Real Techniques collection and how she uses them. I then thought why not make a tag out of this, so thanks Siobhan for coming up with this idea and for making the start with your amazing post! :) If you'd like to do this tag you obviously just write about the brushes you own and how you use each one.

Buffing brush - This is one of the few brushes I actually use for its intended purpose. It's is honestly the best foundation brush I've ever used, it creates such a flawless finish especially with liquid foundations. I just wish you could buy this seperately, since it only comes in the Core Collection or Sam's Picks brush set.

Pointed foundation brush - I have no use for this whatsoever, so if you have any suggestions on what to use this for, let me know!

Contour brush - Since this brush is quite small and dense, it has become my go to highlighter brush. It's the perfect size for highlighting your cheekbones, cupids bow and the bridge of your nose, or wherever else you want to add a bit of a glow.

Detailer brush - I never would of thought this was supposed to be a concealer brush, it's tiny! But that's what makes it the perfect lip brush, it's precise and easy to work with.

Blush brush - the blush brush I used to use before this was just a cheapo one, its bristles felt like razors if I remember correctly, ha! The RT blush brush is so so soft and it took me a while to get used to it but once I figured it out, it made applying blusher so much easier. It's slightly tapered and helps blending the colour. No one likes harsh lines when it comes to blush, right?

Powder brush - This is probably one of the largest brushes ever. It's perfect for applying a setting powder, I do however use another, smaller powder brush to set my under eye concealer and the parts around my nose, since this brush is too big for that. It's also great for adding a layer of illuminating powder such as the Bourjois Java Rice Powder or Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders.

Setting brush - I used to use this one to apply a setting powder underneath my eyes until I saw Lily Pebbles talk about this brush in a video. She said she used it for concealer, and I've been doing the same ever since. It's the perfect brush to hide those dark under eye circles as well as the red bits around my nose.

Expert face brush - this goes exceptionally well with cream based products. I prefer liquid foundation though so I'm not using this for cream formulas all too often. I do however like to use this to buff in a highlighting concealer on my chin, nose, and forehead.

Multitask brush - my brush of choice when it comes to contouring. I know there might be better options out there, but my brush collection isn't that big so I'll just have to work with what I got.

Essential foundation brush - If you own this brush you'll know it's too small to apply foundation properly. I usually use this to apply primers as you don't have to be as precise with primers as with foundation.

Domed shadow brush - I use this fluffy brush as a blending brush, it's the perfect size for blending out any harsh lines. It's also great for applying a sheer wash of colour all over the lid.

I hope you enjoyed this tag lovelies, make sure you send me the links to your post on Twitter if you decide to do it!

The A/W Beauty Tag

Hiya lovelies!

If you're following the lovely India who runs The Jewel Beauty you might know she created a tag earlier this month. Since I love doing the odd tag every now and then I thought now would be the perfect time for this particular tag plus I really enjoyed reading her answers! So without further ado, here are mine:

What is your current go to foundation for A/W 13?
Unlike most beauty bloggers I love using my Wake Me Up foundation by Rimmel all year round. It gives my skin a lovely glow and stops it from looking dull in this weather.

What is your favorite Lip Balm for winter?
This has to be my Korres guava lip butter. I reviewed it here, it's really nourishing without being greasy and makes my lips look and feel super soft. It smells delicious, too!

If you had to choose to wear one lipstick shade all winter what would it be?
Choosing only one lipstick is such a hard task! But I think I'd go for the ever so hyped Kate Moss for Rimmel lipstick in shade #107. I would miss my pinks and corals though.

Describe your most worn wintery make up look?
I tend to match my blusher and lipstick during summer and wear either pinks or corals. During winter I like to go for either a bright blusher or lipstick to mute things down a bit. I also love a bronzey smokey eye and berry coloured lips.

What beauty product would you most like to try next?
That's an easy one! Definitely the Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette. It's crazily expensive but I've heard nothing but rave reviews so far. It's just one of these products you get really excited about and it's something so luxurious it's hard to resist picking it up. I might treat myself to this on payday!

What are your favorite products in your current skincare routine?
Since I started blogging I've gone from 'makeup wipes will do' to 'omg I haven't double cleansed, my skin will look horrible tomorrow'. I love a good skincare routine and my favourite item in my current routine has to be the Origins GinZing moisturiser. Keep your eyes peeled for my review.

What is your favorite winter scent?
I love sweet scents like Flowerbomb by Victor&Rolf or La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme. My favourite scent ever is Chloé by Chloé and I love using this all year round. If you like floral scents I urge you to try it.

Hope you enjoyed reading my answers! I'd love to read yours too, if you've done this tag feel free to leave your link in the comment section below. If you haven't, do give this tag a go, who doesn't love getting to know the people behind their blogs a bit better?! I know I do!

Tag - If all my makeup disappeared

Hiya lovelies!

A few months ago I spotted a fun tag on Georgina's blog Live Love Lipstick. It's one of my favourite reads, so if you're not following her yet, stop what you're doing and follow her now! Done? Good. As the title of this post suggests the tag is called 'If all my makeup disappeared'. Just imagine! That'd be a complete nightmare but assuming you were allowed to repurchase just ten things, what would you choose and why? So let's get started.

1. MAC Mineralize Satinfinish foundation: this is one of my favourite foundations ever. No matter how bad my skin looks this little gem always makes it look perfect. It has medium coverage but feels really light whilst covering any imperfections. It also has SPF15 in it which is always a bonus. I wouldn't want to be without it!

2. Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection concealer: I'm not going into too much detail here because this is a staple in ever beauty bloggers makeup bag unless they're living under a rock. Amazing coverage, doesn't cake or crease and lasts all day. The best bit about it is the £4.19 price tag! You know I don't like the expression but this truly is my Holy Grail of concealers.

3. Rimmel Stay Matte powder: another hyped product which I think deserves every praise it gets. This lasts so much longer than any other powder I've tried [although I've recently heard great things about the S&G powder which I really want to try now]. It never looks cakey and really sets my makeup, I hardly need to touch up during the day!

4. Sleek Sweet Cheeks by 3: this is a bit of a cheat as it technically holds three blushers but seeing as it's a palette.. I like a bit of variety when it comes to blushers and this palette contains a light bubblegum pink powder blush, a full on fuchsia cream colour and the brightest, almost neon pink with a hint of coral, making it quite versatile.

5. MAC Paint Pot: I use this every single day and raved about it countless times. It makes my eye makeup stay put until I take it off, it's literally the best primer/cream eyeshadow I've ever had. You can also use this on its own if you're feeling lazy and it's is definitely another HG product for me.

6. UD Naked Basics palette: I use this to fill in my brows with faint plus you can create numerous eye makeup looks from neutral to smokey eyes. I also love that it comes with a shimmery shade to highlight your browbone and the inner corners of your eyes. They are really pigmented and blend like a dream, so I'd have to repurchase this as well.

7. Essence Get Big Lashes mascara: since Essence is finally available in selected Wilkos I no longer feel bad for recommending this mascara to you. Well actually I do because they've discontinued it but the waterproof version should still be available plus another two from the same range. This beats any Chanel and Dior mascara I've tried and it's an absolute bargain at £2. It curls, lenghtens and volumises my lashes and still looks freshly applied in the evening. This is seriously the best mascara ever!

8. Real Techniques Travel Essentials: since I never use my hands to apply makeup I'd need to repurchase a decent brush set. This one comes with a multi-task face brush, a foundation brush and the domed shadow brush. This handy little collection would pretty much cover all of my brush-needs.

9. MAC Sunny Seoul lipstick: as a daytime lipcolour Sunny Seoul is the most perfect pink shade. It has a pearly finish and would look lovely on its own or paired with a smokey eye. As most MAC lipsticks this feels amazing on my lips, it doesn't dry them out and lasts quite well.

10. Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick #107: in case I fancied something a bit more dramatic I'd go for this lipstick. It's a deep berry colour which makes my teeth look super white! It's not as dark as it looks in the bullet though. I absolutely love the Kate Moss lipsticks, the formula is amazing, they're really pigmented and feel lovely on your lips. They also smell delicious and keep your lips moisturised. What's not to love?

So these are the ten products I'd repurchase if all my makeup disappeared. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and if you're doing this tag, do let me know in the comments below!

Would you repurchase any of these, too? Which products would you choose?

The Five Minute Makeup Challenge

Hiya lovelies!

A few months ago a tag called 'The 5 Minute Makeup Challenge' has been doing its rounds on YouTube. Since I won't be on there anytime soon I thought I'd turn it into a blog post. I had so much fun doing this challenge as I usually spend a good 40 minutes on my makeup every morning. Yes, that's a lot, especially if you like sleeping that bit longer which is why I'm almost always late..I love both, whoopsie!

My skin is nowhere near perfect hence I start with foundation. I apply the MAC Mineralize Satinfinish foundation with my RealTechniques Buffing Brush which gives a lovely airbrushed finish in no time.

I then apply some concealer to hide dark undereye circles and the red bits around my nose. The Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer is a firm favourite of most bloggers and deserves all the praise it gets. I buff this into my skin with the RealTechniques Expert Face Brush. I then apply the Rimmel Stay Matte powder with the RealTechniques Powder Brush to set everything.

Sadly I've gone overboard with plucking my eyebrows as a teenager so there are basically none left. So I kind of have to draw new ones with the MAC Espresso matte eyeshadow and a cheap angled liner brush.

Next is blusher which is one of my favourite products to buy, I love the different finishes and textures. Sleek blushers are quite foolproof if you use a light hand [they're super pigmented!]. They're also really shimmery so they're basically a blusher and highlighter in one which is great when you're in a hurry. I apply this with my RealTechniques Blush Brush to give my cheeks a nice flush of colour.

I've raved about the MAC paint pots a lot lately, these are actual live savers! I just apply a thin layer all over the lid with my ring finger. I then apply Foxy or WOS from the UD Naked Basics palette on top with Faint in the crease to define my eyes. To finish my eye makeup I dab a bit of Venus into the corners of the eye to make them look more awake.

I swear by this mascara! I've tried countless mascaras from Dior to Chanel to Artdeco and none of them was as good as this £2 Essence mascara. I've stocked up on these when they were on sale in a German highstreet shop so I've got four spare ones. I usually apply two layers of this and my lashes look amazing until I take my makeup off at night. Rumour has it Essence Cosmetics is coming to the UK so if that's true: YAY!

No makeup look is complete without a slick of lipstick. I've only started wearing lipstick last year as I've always been a lip gloss kind of gal. Blogging made me do it! The Revlon lip butters and L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks are great as they're moisturising but also quite pigmented.

Five minutes are over and I'm good to go! God knows what takes me so long in the morning. How long does it take for you to get ready? Let me know in the comments!

What's in my touch up makeup bag

Hiya!

Today I thought I'd share the contents of my makeup bag with you guys, seeing as I got a spanking new one the other week and also love having a nosey to see what's in everyone else's makeup bags!

I usually don't touch up my makeup during the day, apart from concealer and lip products. That's probably the reason it always takes me about 40 minutes to apply my makeup in the morning, I like to make sure it stays put all day! Now onto the actual post, I need to stop rambling so much.. The bag itself is from Superdry, there are five colours to choose from which are equally gorgeous and I had a hard time deciding which one to get hehe. They can be found on the Superdry website here.

I'll start with some general items, you'll never ever see me without an anti bac handgel, this one is from The Body Shop and whilst it did smell nice I wasn't too impressed with this. Can't wait to get new BBW ones! Every girl needs a mirror in their hand bag, so I use Benefit's Some Kinda Gorgeous as a mirror and keep some hair grips in the little compartment which held the sponge as I don't use the makeup itself [in fact, it's awful]. I also always have a tiny bottle of hairspray with me as well as some hand cream. This one's from Tesco and as soon as I run out I'm going to cry. It's been discontinued but this is the most amazing hand cream I've ever used, ever! If you have a spare bottle lying around somewhere, I'll happily pay a fortune.

Onto the base products, the Collection concealer is a firm favourite amongst bloggers and I can totally see why. It's a bargain as well as long lasting and the coverage it gives is amazing, needless to say it's a staple in my makeup bag. The Rimmel stay matte powder is another hyped product and again, a bargain which does exactly what is says on the tin. I'll use my RealTechniques pointed foundation brush and contour brush with both products as they are the perfect size for touch ups on the go.

Carrying six lipsticks with you is probably a tad ridiculous, this won't stop me from keeping them in there though haha. I'm switching them up every couple of days apart from the Clinique chubby stick in case my lips are feeling really dry and the MUA lipstick shade 14 bare for a nude lip. The other ones are Topshop's Macaroon, L'Oreal's Dating Coral, MAC's Coral Bliss and Revlon's lipbutter in Wild Watermelon.

I really hope you enjoyed having a peek into my makeup bag. I'd love to know what's in yours!

BEDM day 2 - spring is here!

Hiya lovelies!

So today's topic of the blog every day in may challenge is kind of an easy one. Although it doesn't really feel like spring yet, I've swapped berry toned lipstick shades for bright coral and pink ones a little while ago. Since this is supposed to be a beauty blog I thought I'd share my top five lipstick picks for spring with you guys as wearing brighter makeup is one of my favourite things about spring! :)

Kate Moss for Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick shade 16 - This is probably one of my favourite lipsticks of all time! It's a lovely pink shade with a hint of coral which is quite bright but not too in-your-face. It's super wearable and I'd say it suits most skintones, it's also such a bargain at £5.49!

Topshop Ohh la la - This was my first Topshop makeup item and I'm loving it already! It smells lovely and I love the bright orange colour, it's really pigmented and I don't need to touch up every hour, it's proper long-lasting. Also, how gorgeous is the packaging! I really want to get my hands on a few more shades now, for £8 a pop they're quite affordable.

Revlon lip butter in Juicy Papaya&Wild Watermelon - I've already raved about these shades here, these are two of the four new shades released for spring. I love the sheer wash of colour they give and how they feel on your lips. Juicy Papaya is perfect if you shy away from bold colours as it's really subtle but still noticable. Wild Watermelon on the other hand is a bright red shade which is equally lovely.

Clinique Chubby Stick in Mighty Mimosa - Yet another first! When Clinique released their Chubby Sticks a few years ago they didn't really catch my eye as I knew they wouldn't have a scent which is one thing I adore about beauty products haha. However since I have really dry lips I thought I should give them a go and managed to snap one up with 50% off. You have to put on quite a lot for the colour to become visible but I really like this particular shade and that it doesn't cling to dry bits!

There you go, this is what I'm looking foward to come spring! What are you most excited about?

BEDM day 1 - five lines

Hiya lovelies!

So, I've been complaining over on Twitter about how I'm kind of stuck in a rut with my blog recently so the lovely Ana from We all think differently let me know about the blog every day in may challenge Elizabeth started over at Rosalilium. I do love writing reviews but I also felt like my blog could do with some personal posts, so I decided to give this a go! I'm not that creative but I'll try and hopefully won't bore you guys too much. The idea is that there are 31 given topics, one for each day of the month for you to blog about. I'd definitely recommend having a look in case you need some inspiration!

Day one's topic is five lines, which I interpret as five lines about myself. As I rarely write personal blog posts this might help anyone who's interested to get to know me a tad better.

My name is not actually Fisi, that's just what my friends and family call me, in fact I hate my name so much I won't type it out EVER! I'm the oldest of six and I love my family to death, we got through quite a few hard times but I wouldn't want to change that as this has made us who we are today. Bring me anything glittery, chocolatey or pink and I'll love you forever. I've been suffering from depression and a personality disorder since I was little but I try my hardest to overcome it everyday. I usually act all funny and blunt when in public but on the inside I'll forever be so self-conscious and shy it makes me cringe thinking about it.

I don't even know why I'm opening myself to a bunch of strangers but I kind of trust the #bbloggers community! I got to know so many lovely girls [and boys!] through blogging and on Twitter and I'm proud to be a part of it. Since this is quite a personal post, I thought I'd throw in a picture of myself, something I always wanted to include more on my blog but always feel self-conscious about.

Hope you enjoyed reading, let me know what you think of the BEDM challenge!

Awards & Tags

Hiya lovelies! How have you been? :)

As you might have guessed from my rare and repetitive tweets already, I'm still stressed about my exams but the next one won't be until wednesday next week which means plenty of time for me to finally thank all of you lovelies who nominated me for an award.
I'm usually not one to do these tags although I enjoy reading everyones answers but given that I've been nominated by quite a few people over the last weeks I thought I might just answer some random questions so I don't need to get through all of them.

Thanks to
Vicky,
Suzie,
Nuala,
and Arwa

for nominating me! I appreciate it :)

Please do excuse if I forgot to mention you, just drop me a tweet/message/comment and let me know so I can link you, too! Like I said I've been nominated numerous times so kind of lost track. So I'm going to choose a couple of questions the girls created and throw in a few random facts about me. I'll tag anyone who wants to do this tag as I find it quite hard to choose just a few blogs and think anyone should be able to join in on the fun :) Let me know if you do this and don't forget to put your link in the comments!

Random facts about me

1. I'm a perfectionist and can pretty much obsess over anything. Counting calories, swatching nail varnish, washing my hands, the perfect eyeliner flick, you name it, I obsess about it.

2. I'm the eldest of six kids, I have two brothers and three sisters who I love to bits.

3. Hate excercising and diets with a passion but won't ever stop complaining about my body.

4. Whenever I go shopping I need to touch and comment on everything within reach [that's why I carry tons of anti bac hand gel around with me you see]

5. I hate, hate, hate my nose more than anything and definitely will have it done one day.

6. Seeing maggots and/or earthworms makes me cry. They disgust me so much!

7. I don't like cherries. Or carrots. Or Brussels sprouts.

8. I sympathise with almost anyone! Obviously there are a few exceptions but I'm quite understanding most of the time.

9. The #bbloggers community made me gain a lot of confidence! Everyone is so kind and lovely ♥

10. Before I've started studying Social Work in 2011 I've been studying English and Dutch literature, but decided that wasn't for me and I haven't looked back ever since!

Random questions

1. What has been the best drugstore foundation to you? That's an easy one, nothing matches my skintone quite as well as Rimmel's foundations! I'm currently using their Match Perfection and Lasting Finish 25h foundation in ivory and their Wake Me Up in soft beige which is my favourite out of these.

2. Do you see a bright future or an unknown one? To be honest with you, I try to not think about the future at all. Of course I'm trying to make wise choices but due to my depression and all that jazz I need to take one step at a time. My next goal is to finish uni!

3. Which product could you not live without? Strictly speaking I can't just name one product but I guess it would be anything by Soap&Glory. Seriously, that brand has changed my life! Not being dramatic here, am I.

4. Do you have any hobbies besides blogging? Well, I do consider playing around with makeup one of my hobbies. Actually, a lot of my 'hobbies' are just as shallow as they involve shopping and painting my nails. But I also enjoy travelling, reading books and crafting!

5. What do you look for in a blog? First of all, I love simple yet cute blog designs and clear, big pictures. Regarding beauty blogs I also love to see accurate swatches and all the 'important' information like the price, where they've bought it from, shades the product comes in etc. And most importantly a personal style of wrinting! To me there's nothing worse than boring posts which lack personality.

6. Which one skincare, haircare and cosmetic product would you take with you on a desert island? (one of each!) That's tricky! I think I'd choose Soap&Glory's For Daily Youth [my skincare saviour atm, review coming soon!] Aussie's 3 minute miracle and a pinky coral lipstick.

7. What is your proudest moment to date? This took me ages to think about, I think it's seeing my siblings grow up into lovely people. Couldn't be more proud of them and the choices they make!

8. Do you prefer heels or flats? Now I love heels, there are loads of incredible looking ones out there but the reason I prefer flats is I'm 5'7" already!

9. All time favourite movie? Harry Potter without a doubt! I've probably watched it a million times.

10. What's your favourite drugstore makeup? Over the past few months I've developed an unhealthy obsession with MUA, especially their palettes and lipsticks!

So there we go, hope you enjoyed reading my facts and answers! Anyone sharing a weird habit of mine? Let me know :)

I ♥ drugstore makeup tag

Hey lovelies! Hope you're all fine and dandy!

It's been a while since the lovely Nuala tagged me to do the I ♥ drugstore makeup tag and I'm only now getting around to it. She has put a spin on the tag and called it best/worst drugstore products of 2012 which however I am not going to do as I already posted my 2012 favourites [here, here and here] so I'm just going to use the original tag [found on Luchessa's blog].

As I already ranted on Twitter earlier, my boyfriends sister came over today and she stayed for a good six hours so I couldn't take any pictures before it got dark which really bothered me. I'm aware this sounds pathetic, but I like my pictures to be bright and sharp! I guess fairy lights will have to do today, apologies if you're looking for proper pictures, just couldn't wait to blog today so I had to lower my sights! If any of you have done this tag, feel free to put your links in the comment section :)

1. What is your favourite drugstore makeup brand? There are quite a few drugstore brands I really enjoy using, not only because they're cheap but of good quality as well such as MUA, Soap&Glory, Rimmel, Revlon and Catrice, a german drugstore brand. Sometimes I prefer to purchase a lot of cheap items instead of treating myself to one high end product!

2. What are your favourite face, cheek and lip products? My favourite face product has to be Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation cause it's the first high street foundation ever to match my skintone perfectly! I'm using the shade 200 soft beige which is quite yellowish, as is my skin. I've also been loving Soap&Glory's Kick Ass Concealer in light as it has two shades to chose from, one to cover dark undereye circles and the other one to conceal blemishes. My fave cheek product at the moment is Sleek's blusher in rose gold. I picked this up in Superdrug the other day and have been using it non-stop since, it's so pigmented and I love that it also has a mirror so I can touch up on the go, eventhough it's not necessary because it's really long-lasting!

I couldn't decide between Revlon's lip butter and MUAs lipsticks as a favourite lip product, both are amazing. The MUA ones are really pigmented and smell lovely plus they're only £1. The lip butters are quite sheer and you constantly have to reapply, but they give a lovely sheen and feel really moisturising. They're also not exactly cheap at £8 considering they contain a mere 2.55g of product while standard lipsticks contain approx. 4g.

3. Your least favourite product? As much as I love MUA, I've been a tad disappointed with their Out There plumping gloss, the smell is really off putting and it doesn't make my lips look fuller at all. Then again the colour [peach shimmer] is lovely and for £2 you can't complain, can you.

4. What is the best makeup bargain? This has to be my Get Big Lashes mascara by Essence, a german drugstore brand which is amazingly cheap and stocks some great products. It's my favourite mascara ever and I've tried loads of brands including Benefit, Chanel and Artdeco, none of them beats this £2 bargain. I'll apply in the morning and it will last until I take it off at night!

5. What is your favourite underdog product? [Something you love that often gets overlooked] The Re-touch Light Reflecting Concealer by Catrice [another german drugstore brand] is the perfect alternative to the YSL Touche Eclat, it covers dark undereye circles perfectly and is really brightening without being glittery. The only downside is that it contains 1.5ml of product, the same amount a sample sachet usually contains and 1ml less than the YSL version but as it's only about £3 it's not really a downside considering the product itself is great.

6. A drugstore product that is overpriced? Again, as much as I love Revlon and their lip products, the price of their lip butters is quite steep. I got it on 3 for 2 at Boots though which makes it reasonable, so keep your eyes peeled for offers in case you're not willing to pay the full price.

7. Your best drugstore makeup dupe? If you haven't been living under a rock in 2012, you know that MUA's Undressed palette is almost an exact dupe of Urban Decays Naked palette. I'm not going into detail about these anymore, you can check out my post about my MUA palettes here if you like :)

8. Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype? To be honest, I can't think of one! I'm not one to run out and buy every hyped product out there as living on a student budget can be tricky, but when I did I've never been disappointed! I'm lucky I guess :)

Hope you enjoyed reading my answers, feel free to do this tag yourself if you haven't already! Let me know if you'd like me to review any of these products! :)

Get to know me Tag

Hiya lovelies!

I'm a very busy bee these days and I doubt this gets better with uni starting one week from now. I'm excited though because this means it's time to shop loads of cute stationery :)

Reading through blogs the other day I came across an interesting tag on Georgina's lovely blog, and decided to answer some get to know me questions myself. We all know I'm really nosey and enjoy reading this kind of posts on other blogs so I hope you'll enjoy mine as well!

1. Are you named after anyone?

Not really, my mum knew a girl with the same name and liked it but I wasn't named after her particularly.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Actually I'm crying all the time but like I said I've been busy recently, so didn't really have time to cry haha

3. Do you have kids?

Nah.

4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

Well I'm not sure, I obviously would like myself if that makes any sense but it takes a lot to gain my trust. Would love to chatter about nail polish and makeup all day long though aha

5. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I wouldn't say I use it a lot but I sure do use it when talking to specific persons if you know what I mean!

6. Will you ever Bungee Jump?

Certainly not. I always said I wanted to but then went on a drop tower someday, from that moment on that was over and done with! Nearly shat my pants.

7. What's your favourite cereal?

Guess I like every kind of cereal, can't really think of a favourite. Anything sweet really!

8. What's the first thing you notice about people?

I think it's their clothes, followed by their face and hair obviously. Different from most people I don't pay attention to hands&nails or shoes right away.

9. What is your eye colour?

Dark brown

10. Scary movie or happy endings?

Definitely happy endings! Watched far too many scary movies when I was younger but this resulted in me sleeping with the door open and the lights on so I don't watch any scary movies anymore haha

11. Favorite smells?

That's a tough one. I like fruity, sweet and floral scents alike. Also adore the smell after a summer rain [ooh cheesy] and the smell of roses.

12. Summer or winter?

Both! Love summer as I'm always freezing and it's just nice to not have to put on 3468379 layers of clothing and wearing bright nail polish shades but then again it's also great to cuddle up in front of the fire and wear chunky knitted scarfs which I rarely do in summer.

13. Computer or television?

Computer of course! I don't really watch TV and I can watch my favourite programmes such as My Name is Earl and Desperate Housewives online anyway. Plus you can't blog from your TV :)

14. What's the furthest you've ever been from home?

I've never left the continent and haven't gotten around that much but I guess Italy has to be the furthest from home.

15. Do you have any special talents?

Does it count as a talent to be 22 and not being able to cook because all you ever paid attention to was painting your nails and go shopping? Additionaly I can offer a talent for forgetting important dates like deadlines at uni so I usually write my term papers the night before, sobbing every now and then and moaning about my own stupidity. Wow I seem like a very untalented person.

16. Where were you born?

Western Germany

17. What are your hobbies?

Blogging, shopping, meeting family&friends, painting my nails, taking random pictures, food. Yes I lead a sad life but I actually enjoy it most of the time!

18. Do you have any pets?

I did own a few guinea pigs, some of them happened to have a really short life thanks to my siblings who accidentally stepped on them or dropped them from our bunk bed when we were little. Sad childhood memories. We also had fishies, a rabbit [he was more of a cat actually, he would hiss anytime I tried to stroke him!] and gerbils.

19. Favorite movie?

Hmm I'm usually way too impatient to watch a movie to the end but I love Guy Ritchie's movies and funny films like Superbad, Jonah Hill&Michael Cera are some hilarious fellas.

20. Do you have any siblings?

I have three sisters and two brothers and they're all younger than me! I like to stress we're nothing like the families on trash TV though, no one dropped out of school and we don't burn car tyres in winter because the landlord turned the heating off due to unpaid accounts [I'm into stereotypes you see]

21. What do you want to be when you grow up?

Always hated that question as I never ever had a clue! I'm studying Social Work and I think I'm quite content with it but then again I change my mind all the time and I don't know where I'll end up to be honest.

22. Is there anything in life you would like to accomplish that you haven't yet?

Well I definitely want to get around more and see different countries such as Africa, America and so on. I'd also love to end up with a job I love and have a family of my own :)

23. One secret you don't mind sharing with us?
Can't even think of a secret I wouldn't share!

24. How do you like to relax?
I must sound like a weirdo but being in my room by myself and painting my nails is somwhat relaxing to me.

25. What was your last major purchase?
I went ceerazy in the Models Own sale they had last week!

26. What can you cook very well?
Frozen pizza.

27. What is your favourite holiday and why?
Probably christmas because I love all the decorations and fairy lights and huge christmas trees. Also love spending time with my family as everyone is always so kind and forgiving at that time of the year.

28. What is one tv show that you don't really like?
I don't like most tv shows, I'm really picky when it comes to watching tv!

29. If given a million pounds, what is the first thing you would do with it?

I would love to donate one part to a relief organisiation and save up the other part for my parents and my own retirement but knowing me I'd splurge on high end cosmetics first and see what's left! Does this make me a bad person? I'm sure I wouldn't spend everything on treating myself though so don't you judge me.

30. What kind of people do you like being around?
People who I can be myself around without them making me feel like I shouldn't.

31. What is your one embarrassing moment?
Can't think of one, which doesn't mean I don't make a fool of myself from time to time! I just keep forgetting, I'm probably the most oblivious person on earth.

32. What one makeup mistake did you used to make?
I was about 14 when I caked on loads and loads of pressed powder instead of just using foundation! The powder was way too light and made me look like a ghost but I didn't realise until about two years later.

33. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
Tough one! I loooove food! Guess I'd pick Walkers. Or pasta. Or pizza.. oh how I wish I loved healthy food!

34. Have you got any tattoos? If not, would you like one?
If it wasn't for my mum I'd be tattoed from top to bottom today but luckily I don't have a single one! Like I said, I constantly change my mind so I'm better off without any tattoos.

35. What is your one staple clothing item?
Perfectly fitted jeans.

36. Do you have any bad habits?
Unfortunately yes, I have loads of bad habits. One would be that I tend to get aggressive [I don't hit people don't you worry!] when I feel stressed or anxious and I hate that! Always feel so bad afterwards.

37. If you were to be reincarnated into an animal, what would you be and why?
Please don't hate me for my answer but I'd rather not be reincarnated into an animal, as don't really like any animals.

38. Do you think money is happiness?
I do think money can bring happiness but it's not the key to being happy, if you're not content with your life, money alone wouldn't make it any better!

39. Are you OCD about anything?
I'm suffering from depressions so yes, there are quite a few things I'm OCD about but I'm not ready yet to write a post or something about it, although I'm aware it might help people and I admire those who talk openly about these issues.

40. Have you ever been abroad?
Ye I've been to Italy, Denmark, Holland

41. Do you speak any foreign languages?
I'm pretty good at Italian and know a few scraps of Spanish and Dutch

42. What is your favourite colour of nail polish?
Anything glittery really :)

43. If you could be anyone for a day who would you be and why?

Probably a celeb like Nicole Richie, I'd love to know what it is like to lead her life! Going to glamorous events, doing interviews and go shopping without worrying to break the bank. I must seem so superficial but a girl can dream right!

44. How tall/short are you?
Im really tall which is a bummer as I'd love to wear pretty glittery heels all the time. But I'm 5 ft 7 so I'd probably look stupid.

45. If you were to dye your hair, what colour would it be?
I'm not too adventurous with my hair so I'd probably try the ombre look.

46. What are you wearing right now?
A pale pink lace top with a beaded collar, a plain white shirt underneath and some light brown/mud coloured skinnies

47. Best present you ever receieved?
I've received loads of generous and beautiful presents, the latest present I absolutely loved was the stippling brush my bestie got me for my birthday in may and the holiday my boyfriend booked for us :)

48. Are you religious?
Yes, I'm catholic, don't really go to church that often but I pray a lot and go to confession etc.

49. Cheapest makeup product you own?
I don't think there even exists anything cheaper than the MUA lipsticks which I own 4 different shades of currently.

50. Last thing you ate?
I was tempted to write vegetables of course but I just scoffed half a can of Pringles.

51. How are you sitting/standing right now?
Sitting on the edge of my bed which is really uncomfortable but I feel lazy when lying in bed all day [I know this doesn't make a difference shush!]

52. Who else is in the room as you are answering this?
My boyfriend

53. Who are you closer to, Mum or Dad?
My mum obviously, I think that's because we're both female but since I moved out of my parents house I'm really close to my dad as well!

54.What do you think is the coolest accent?
I don't really know, I love foreign languages in general! :)

Wow, it took me forever to answer these questions! Hope I didn't bore you with this. I'm not going to tag anyone specifically, feel free to answer these questions on your blog and make sure you send me the link so I can have a read :) Have a good monday everyone!
