MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot - Soft Ochre

Hiya lovelies!

Okay so if you've been following my blog or Twitter for a little while, you might know I'm obsessed with the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots. I haven't tried a lot of eyeshadow primers to begin with, in fact I've only tried an Essence cosmetics one and the Too Faced Shadow Insurance [a comparison of these two will be up on the blog soon]. Although I liked them, they can't beat my Paint Pot in Soft Ochre

MACs Paint Pots are described as a 'highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish...creates seamless coverage without weight or caking'. I couldn't agree more with their description, I bought this particular shade as an eyeshadow base and I don't need to apply concealer at all, this gives the most even and flawless finish! I've tried to apply this with different brushes but it's best applied with your fingers. Once it's dried it stays put until you take it off. You can either wear Paint Pots on their own or as an eyeshadow base which is what I tend to do. My eye makeup literally looks the same after a good ten hours, making this the most amazing and versatile eyeshadow ever.

£15/5g might sound steep but trust me, you only need to apply the tiniest bit as they're so opaque! I've had this one for four months now and have hardly made a dent in it despite the fact I've used this every single day since I got it. You just have to make sure you store them upside down to prevent them from drying out. I'd happily splurge on some more shades, really like the look of Vintage Selection, Rubenesque and Bare Study which is a favourite amongst beauty bloggers. Although I dislike the term 'holy grail', this has to be my holy grail eyeshadow. Can't recommend it enough!

Do you own any MAC Paint Pots? What are your favourite shades?

  1. This sounds great! I have Bare Study, and I love it to pieces. This one would be great for a "no makeup" makeup look :)
