Bourjois Java Rice Powder

Hiya lovelies!

Today's review is about a product I've been enjoying a lot over the past couple of months, namely the Bourjois Java Rice Powder. I've seen this pop up on a couple of blogs last year and knew I had to have it.

Bourjois celebrates its 150th anniversary with a reinvented vintage edition of its first historical best-seller: Java Rice Powder.

The vintage packaging is just gorgeous and I love the fact that it's a reinvention of one of Bourjois' first products. The loose powder claims to illuminate and perfect your complexion and I have to agree, it gives my skin a lovely glow like nothing else I've tried before. When swatched on the back of my hand it looks quite shimmery, which scared me at first, but luckily you won't end up looking like a disco ball (unless that's the look you're going for, in that case feel free to dust on as much as you can). With that being said, I wouldn't apply this all over my face during summer, as it will look all sparkly in direct sunlight, but it certainly makes for a nice subtle highlighter during the warmer months. I also love that it comes with a twist mechanism, so it won't spill should you want to carry it around with you, which is always a bonus with loose powders. The powder itself smells incredible, it has the same old-fashioned scent as their Little Round Pots, something to keep in mind if you're not a lover of heavily scented products! The scent does fade super quickly though. It's very finely milled so you don't need to use a lot and I can imagine this little pot lasting me a year or two. I usually apply this after my setting powder and feel that it makes my skin looks less dull, it's also really lightweight so won't go cakey during the day. I really can't find a single fault with this!

Have you tried the Java Rice Powder? What are your thoughts on it?
