Hiya lovelies!
A few months ago a tag called 'The 5 Minute Makeup Challenge' has been doing its rounds on YouTube. Since I won't be on there anytime soon I thought I'd turn it into a blog post. I had so much fun doing this challenge as I usually spend a good 40 minutes on my makeup every morning. Yes, that's a lot, especially if you like sleeping that bit longer which is why I'm almost always late..I love both, whoopsie!
My skin is nowhere near perfect hence I start with foundation. I apply the MAC Mineralize Satinfinish foundation with my RealTechniques Buffing Brush which gives a lovely airbrushed finish in no time.
I then apply some concealer to hide dark undereye circles and the red bits around my nose. The Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer is a firm favourite of most bloggers and deserves all the praise it gets. I buff this into my skin with the RealTechniques Expert Face Brush. I then apply the Rimmel Stay Matte powder with the RealTechniques Powder Brush to set everything.
Sadly I've gone overboard with plucking my eyebrows as a teenager so there are basically none left. So I kind of have to draw new ones with the MAC Espresso matte eyeshadow and a cheap angled liner brush.
Next is blusher which is one of my favourite products to buy, I love the different finishes and textures. Sleek blushers are quite foolproof if you use a light hand [they're super pigmented!]. They're also really shimmery so they're basically a blusher and highlighter in one which is great when you're in a hurry. I apply this with my RealTechniques Blush Brush to give my cheeks a nice flush of colour.
I've raved about the MAC paint pots a lot lately, these are actual live savers! I just apply a thin layer all over the lid with my ring finger. I then apply Foxy or WOS from the UD Naked Basics palette on top with Faint in the crease to define my eyes. To finish my eye makeup I dab a bit of Venus into the corners of the eye to make them look more awake.
I swear by this mascara! I've tried countless mascaras from Dior to Chanel to Artdeco and none of them was as good as this £2 Essence mascara. I've stocked up on these when they were on sale in a German highstreet shop so I've got four spare ones. I usually apply two layers of this and my lashes look amazing until I take my makeup off at night. Rumour has it Essence Cosmetics is coming to the UK so if that's true: YAY!
No makeup look is complete without a slick of lipstick. I've only started wearing lipstick last year as I've always been a lip gloss kind of gal. Blogging made me do it! The Revlon lip butters and L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks are great as they're moisturising but also quite pigmented.
Five minutes are over and I'm good to go! God knows what takes me so long in the morning. How long does it take for you to get ready? Let me know in the comments!
