New In - Soap&Glory Makeup

I've actually had these products for a good six months now and only got round to blogging about them today, so let's get straight to the point before they're discontinued...

I can't quite take to these brow gels. I think Benefit were the first to launch a fibre enriched, tinted brow gel, with quite a few high street brands to follow suit. So when Soap&Glory makeup was on 3 for 2 I decided to give it a try. The Archery Volu-Boost gel comes in three different shades like most of their brow products. When I bought it there were only two shades available, so I've got a shade called Mocha up Your Mind, which as been replaced by either Brownie Points or Hot Chocolate. The darkest shades are almost always perfect for me but I can imagine a lot of people having difficulties finding a shade match. The tinted gel has tiny little fibres in it, designed to make your lashes look fuller and keep them look groomed for up to 12 hours. It also claims to be waterproof, which often means the product leaves your brows feeling very crispy, and this is no exception. But then again, show me a brow gel which doesn't! Unfortunately my brows are very sparse and I'm aware that these products won't fill in larger gaps, however, it does make them look fuller. If you're looking for a product to tame your (otherwise perfect) brows and give them a bit of oomph, try this!

Next up is the Sexy Mother Pucker Matte-Lip. These are the cutest little lip crayons! The Mother Pucker Matte-Lip range consists of six shades and comes in sleek, matte, colour-coordinated packaging. It claims to sculpt and volumise, which is a bit exaggerated in my opinion; The shape however allows for precise application, which is great for thin lips like mine. It applies smoothly and doesn't go patchy on the lips at all. It's lightweight and although it's matte, it transfers quite easily. On the bright side, it won't dry out your lips! For £3.50 you really can't go wrong with these. I've got the shade Chocco Berry which is a lovely autumn/winter berry shade.

The powder version of Glow All Out has been my favourite highlighter for years. When I spotted the cream version in Boots I obviously had to get it and boy, I'm glad I did. Unlike the powder version, which is a peachy pink golden shade, the stick has more of a silvery champagne colour, aptly named Ice Shimmer. It's not overly creamy but does pack a punch pigmentation wise. I found the best way to apply this is dabbing it on with my ring finger and blending it with my RT Bold Metals 300 brush. You can build it up to a strong highlight without ruining your foundation, given that you don't apply it straight from the tube.

Same goes for the Love at First Blush cheek stick. If you're anything like me, you're running late most mornings. Any product that serves multiple purposes and lets you hit the snooze button just one more time is a winner in my books. This blush stick isn't for the faint hearted, it's very, very shimmery. It looks lovely when applied though, and I think the pink shade suits all skintones. It'd make a beautiful highlight on darker skintones as well! Much like the highlighter this dries down to a powdery finish which I love, I'm not a fan of cream products which feel heavy on my skin. Overall I'm smitten with the blush sticks and lip crayon and can't recommend their makeup range enough!

Soap&Glory Sunday #15 - Hand Food Hand Cream

It's Soap&Glory Sunday time again - woo!

I've never been much of a hand cream lover. I can't stand how sticky most of them make my skin feel, but my hands have been awfully dry lately, even to the point where they would itch and burn - tmi, sorry. However, there are a few hand creams I like, Soap&Glory's Hand Food being one of them. It's not my favourite, but it's good. I obviously love the packaging and the fact that it contains marshmallows (I know!), but what I like most is that it sinks in rather quickly. It makes my hands feel super soft and moisturised and it isn't greasy, as long as you don't go overboard that is. The signature S&G scent will forever be one of my favourites, as it happens to be connected to some of the best times in my life - wow, this is getting deep. I've already repurchased this twice, and although it can't take the place of my beloved but sadly discontinued Tesco Skin Boost hand cream, I'd really recommend giving Hand Food a try. It's a bloggers favourite after all - in case you need an excuse to pop down to your local Boots. Hand Food is available in a large 125ml tube (£5.50) as well as a 50ml travel size (£2.50).

Soap&Glory Sunday #14 - Peaches And Clean

Hiya lovelies, I hope you all enjoyed the glorious weather this weekend! I just realised it's been two months since my last Soap&Glory Sunday post, where is the time going? The product I'm going to talk about today is the Peaches and Clean 3-in-1 wash-off deep purifying cleanser* (..and breathe). When this came out earlier last year, I heard a lot of people say they didn't like it, so I stayed clear of it. Later on that year, I received a PR sample of it so I obviously gave it a go despite the mixed reviews, and I fell in love!

Peaches and Clean is a cream cleanser which turns milky when you add a splash of water. It claims to remove makeup, but it also states to avoid contact with eyes, so I usually use this after removing my makeup. It has a peachy and slightly minty scent which I love and it makes my skin feel really fresh and smooth. When I first used it I thought it was really sticky, but I think that's because I used it as a face wash and that's not what you're supposed to do. You just massage half a pump onto dry skin and either rinse it off or take it off with a face cloth, which is what I like to do most of the time. I've been using this am and pm and my first bottle has lasted me a good six months. As you can see I already repurchased it and I'd definitely recommend checking this cleanser out!

Soap&Glory Sunday #13 - Sexy Motherpucker XL Extreme-Plump

Am I the only one who thinks lip plumpers are pointless? I am yet to find one that actually plumps my lips, and trust me, I could do with fuller lips. The Soap&Glory Sexy Motherpucker range (loving the cheeky name) is quite popular. I have tried the original version which came with one of the big Christmas gift sets a couple of years ago and didn't get on with it too well. It changed in colour and looked all gross and orangey, so I binned it. It wasn't until last Christmas ("I gave you my heart.." - can't help it, sorry) that I got another one of these, because once again, it was part of their gift set. The Sexy Motherpucker XL comes in a squeezy tube rather than with a doe foot applicator and claims to plump your lips even more than its little sister. It's a thick pink gloss which goes on clear, unless you apply ridiculous amounts. And yes, it does tingle. A lot. And no, it's not overly sticky. It also smells really nice and I do like and use this product every now and then but, the plumping effect just isn't noticeable. To be honest, I think we just pout a little more whenever we're applying a plumping gloss. But that may as well just be me being weird. Anyway, there's not much more to say about this product really. I feel like all I have done so far is slate lip plumpers, but don't get me wrong, the packaging, scent, and texture of this are lovely. I probably won't repurchase this though, seeing as this tube is going to last me a while anyway. If you like plumping glosses, this one is probably amazing (I refuse to think anything else of Soap&Glory*) but I'm just not into them.

Soap&Glory Sunday #12 - Face Powders

Glow All Out - Peach Party

Hiya lovelies, hope you're all enjoying your weekend! I've been meaning to write today's Soap&Glory Sunday for such a long time now, as I hardly ever talk about their makeup range on here. I absolutely adore every single makeup item I have tried from them, albeit not having tried as much as I have from their bath and body range. Today's post is about a couple of their face powders, namely the One Heck Of A Blot mattifying powder, Peach Party blusher and Glow All Out highlighter. Brace yourselves for an(other) ode to Soap&Glory!

One Heck Of A Blot - £12 - a translucent powder which helps keep shine at bay. The sturdy plastic packaging is perfect for touch ups on the go, as it comes with a mirror in the lid. I also think that the embossed print and vintage packaging make it look a lot more expensive than it actually is. Performance-wise it definitely lives up to its claims, for me anyway. But then again, my skin isn't overly oily, so I can't comment on how it performs on oilier skin types. The powder is finely milled and a light dusting all over the face does the trick - don't overdo it as it will go cakey! This being said, there are cheaper alternatives out there which are just as good (e.g. Rimmel Stay Matte powder) but the Soap&Glory packaging is just too pretty to pass up, plus, it's a lot more travel friendly as you don't have to worry about losing the lid!

Peach Party - £11 - is a blush brick which means it's more of a hard pressed powder as opposed to a lightly pressed powder such as One Heck Of A Blot - if that makes any sense. It takes a bit of elbow grease to get a decent amount of product onto your brush, since this isn't as pigmented as it looks in the pan. As you can see it's made up of four different shades which mix together to create a peachy golden shade. I do quite like this blusher and it looks lovely during the warmer months - although the shade is a bit too tan/golden for my liking, so I tend to use this on top of other blushers to really make the shade pop. Peach Party might be a good dupe for the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks..I might have to investigate! Solely for blogging purposes of course.

Glow All Out - £11 - this is by far my favourite out of the bunch, although it comes in a cardboard packaging. This highlighter, or luminiser as Soap&Glory like to call it, has the most gorgeous pinky champagne colour. It's SO soft, it almost feels like a cream highlighter and out of all the highlighters I've tried so far (I've tried a LOT!) this has to be my absolute favourite. It doesn't contain any glitter or even shimmer, it just gives the most amazing glow to the skin. The pictures above don't do it justice! I could go on about how beautiful this is for hours, but I guess you have got better things to do, haven't you? Then all that is left for me to say is, get your derrière down to Boots - these gems are on 3 for 2 at the minute!

Soap&Glory Sunday #11

Hiya lovelies! I hope you're having a great weekend and a lovely Mother's Day so far!

It feels like I haven't done a Soap&Glory Sunday post in such a long time, so today's post is going to be all about the Dr Spot Super Strength Breakout Clearing Gel. If you're following me on Instagram or Twitter, you might have seen me rave about this numerous times already. In case you're not, give me a cheeky follow and read on. I've always been quite lucky with my skin as I never got acne or lots of breakouts, but I do get a couple of spots around my nose and chin occasionally. They tend to leave dark marks for forever, so while we're at it, is there something you could recommend to get rid of them? I used to use a cheap spot clearing gel from Boots own brand which I thought was quite good, plus I wasn't ready to fork out £14 for the Origins Super Spot Remover. When Soap&Glory's skincare was on 3 for 2 in Boots again, I browsed the shelves for something new to try and decided to give Dr Spot a go. And I am so very glad I did as it's unlike anything I have tried before. It has a watery consistency which I prefer to the gloopy formula most spot treatments have, you can apply this on top of your makeup and no one will notice! The scent is kind of lemony which I think is nice. Once applied onto the spot (you know the ones that hurt your whole face) you can instantly feel it working its magic as it starts tingling. This is down to the salicylic acid, which destroys bacteria, but is also drying, so that's something to keep in mind if you have sensitive or really dry skin. It usually takes one or two nights to dry a spot out completely, depending on how nasty it is. I'd definitely recommend trying this if you're in the market for a spot clearing gel, it's the best one I've ever tried!

Soap&Glory Sunday #10

Hiya lovelies! I hope you're all enjoying the weekend :)

Today's Soap&Glory Sunday is all about the Thick&Fast mascara which came with their Yule Monty gift set last Christmas. I haven't tried any of their mascaras before so this made me a very happy girl indeed. The packaging is very plain, almost boring for a Soap&Glory product, but the pink writing kind of makes up for it. Their other offerings do look slightly more appealing; not that it's important as long as it delivers results. Thick&Fast claims to give longer and fuller lashes and contains a bunch of S&G's weird but fun technologies such as 'SUPERFILL False Lash Fillers' and 'NOFLAKE24'. It has a humongous brush similar to Benefit's Bad Gal mascara, so it took me quite some time to get used to it, despite my love for bigger brushes. I didn't expect to like this as much as I do since the bristles don't look like they're separating your lashes at all, but they actually do! My lashes are quite long naturally but this mascara makes them look even longer and separates them nicely. There's hardly any excess when you pull the brush out of the tube which has me worried it's going to dry out quickly, but I'll let you know if that's the case. All in all it's a great mascara and one I'll repurchase when it eventually runs out! It's £10 in Boots, so why not make the most of their 3 for 2 mix and match offer?

Soap&Glory Sunday #9

Hiya lovelies, I hope everyone has had a great weekend!

With the dull weather and long nights drawing in, a good ol' pamper session every now and then can help make winter more bearable. An absolute essential on said pamper night is a creamy, yummy smelling scrub to get rid of dry skin and make your limbs feel smooth. So today's product of choice is the Soap&Glory Breakfast Scrub, one of my favourite body scrubs of all time. As you can see I'm well stocked up, this has to be my fourth of fifth tub of this and it's still the old packaging. I'm sure most of you are familiar with this, seeing as this is a favourite amongst beauty bloggers. I'll let you know why!

The Breakfast Scrub is one of the scrummiest smelling body products there is. It smells of maple syrup and some ingredients I can't really identify, I'm not good at describing scents you see, but I do know this isn't for you if you're not into sickly sweet scents. The Soap&Glory website says the Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub (a new name to go with the new packaging) comes with a new maple fragrance so I'm not sure whether this still smells the same, would be a shame if it didn't. The formula of this is really creamy with a fair amount of sea salt and oats to get rid of dry skin effectively, whilst moisturising your skin with the help of shea butter and honey. The formula, as well as the scent, make this my go-to scrub for whenever I need a little pick-me-up. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for an inexpensive yet luxurious body exfoliator.

Soap&Glory Sunday #8 - The Skin Detox Week Edition

Hiya lovelies, hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend!

Seeing as it's Skin Detox Week here on Oh Snap Babes I thought I'd incorporate that into my Soap&Glory Sunday series. Today's post is about The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Facial Mask&Peel.

This little gem comes in a 50ml tub and has a minty smell, similar to the Scrub You Nose In It peeling. You can either use it as a scrub or mask, leaving it on for 15 minutes to reveal clean and smooth skin. It actually comes in their new white packaging now, the tub pictured is still the old packaging. What I love about this is that the white paste has greeny-blue beads in it which make your face turn green once you've massaged it in thoroughly. It claims to minimize the appearance of pores instantly and to get rid of dry skin cells clogging up your pores. Personally I think it lives up to its claims, it leaves my skin feeling baby soft and my pores are a lot less visible. The only downside to this is that it's a pain to get off, it almost sticks to my skin but I have to say, the results are worth that bit of elbow grease! Despite being aimed at oilier skin types, The Fab Pore is really gentle and not at all harsh on my dry/combination skin, making it the perfect weekly skin detox product. Definitely a product I'd repurchase and recommend to anyone who's after clear and soft skin!

Soap&Glory Sunday #7

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend! First of all, please excuse the shoddy picture. I took a bunch of blog pictures the other day only to find they all turned out looking horrid. Don't you just hate when that happens! Anyway, today's Soap&Glory product is a real miracle worker. I've had the No Clogs Allowed Super Self Heating Deep Cleaning Face Mask sitting in my drawer for ages until I finally gave it a go. If you don't have the time or money to enjoy a facial, this will do the job just fine. Needless to say I'm in love!

No Clogs Allowed claims to remove blackheads and unclog pores. It's a thick paste which smells quite refreshing. You massage a grape-sized blob onto your face, mix it with a splash of water and you can feel it working its magic. Wash it off straight away or leave it on for five minutes to really deep-clean your skin, then take it off with the sponge that comes with it and voilà: you're left with the softest skin ever. The best part about it is that it does exactly what it says on the tin! My blackheads are literally gone after using this and my skin just looks so much clearer. I now use this once a week and have definitely noticed a difference in my skin. This has quickly become one of my favourite Soap&Glory products and I can't recommend it enough if you suffer from clogged pores and blackheads! I'll definitely stock up on this [currently on offer for £7.67 in Boots, when it's gone it's gone].

Soap&Glory Sunday #6

It's time for another Soap&Glory Sunday post. Today's product is one I've been using for absolutely ages now, it's their Face Soap and Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial Wash. What a mouthful!

Face Soap and Clarity comes in a clear tube and the mint coloured gel has plenty of pink beads in it which make it look gorgeous. Although Soap&Glory rebranded their skin care line recently, the packaging of this hasn't changed much. It has quite a minty smell to it just like their Scrub Your Nose In It face scrub and I use this every morning to get rid of any grime [yummy eh] as it feels really refreshing. On the website it says that it removes makeup and gently exfoliates and I must admit that I don't agree with this, the beads do look pretty but it doesn't exfoliate at all! I always use a proper makeup remover like the Superdrug Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser and follow up with this afterwards. You literally need the tiniest amount, a peasized amount will do, so my first tube lasted me just over a year which is brilliant. I'm not sure about the detox part, too,  but it is a lovely face wash which makes your skin feel and look really clean and isn't drying at all. I'm on my second tube of this and already stocked up so if you haven't tried this yet I recommend checking this out next time you're in Boots!

Soap&Glory Sunday #5

Hiya babes! Hope you had a great weekend. What have you been up to? As you might know I've been to Berlin and I just got home today, I have had such a good time! Obviously I'll type up a little haul post soon, no holiday is complete without a spot of shopping, eh?

But let's start with today's Soap&Glory Sunday which is all about the Whipped Clean Shower Butter. When S&G released this last year I didn't really know what to expect as I haven't had heard of anything like it before but I was lucky enough to be sent a tube of this to try out! After months and months of using this religiously I can now report that I'm in love. The smell is obviously my favourite part about it, it smells of pistacchio and almond so if you're not into sickly sweet scents this isn't for you but personally I love it. 

It's made of '25% moisture oils and butters' and feels really creamy just like their body butters but does lather up quite well when applied to wet skin. It instantly makes your skin feel super soft and you don't need a lot for it to work its magic. My skin feels moisturised and smells amazing even after towelling off. This is the perfect product if, like me, you can't be bothered to moisturise every day or don't have time in the morning. Since my skin is really dry I thought this wouldn't do much for me but it's actually just as good as a body lotion! Whipped Clean works a treat especially during the colder months when your skin needs that extra bit of moisture. I will definitely repurchase this and would recommend it to anyone with dry/normal skin.

Soap&Glory Sunday #4

Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was so good, I've been to the Netherlands for a spot of shopping with my boyfriends family! What have you been up to?

Today's Soap&Glory product is their Kick Ass Concealer in the shade light. First things first, the packaging is lovely as always. The round compact houses two concealers, one of which is more yellow toned to conceal spots and blemishes and a peach toned one for hiding those pesky undereye circles. To make it even better, it also contains a transparent setting powder which brightens up my undereye area as well. It also comes with a wee little powder puff and a mirror in the lid which might be fine for on the go but both are really small so I never actually use them. 

The concealer is super creamy and blends like a dream, unfortunately this also means that it does crease a bit if you don't use a setting powder. I'd say it has a medium to high coverage although personally I wouldn't build it up too much as it can go cakey. The setting powder is very finely milled and I usually apply this with my Real Techniques Setting Brush which works great. Due to the concealer being so creamy it doesn't last you very long if you were to use it every day but since I'm switching between this and a couple of other concealers I don't really mind. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is the best concealer I've ever tried but it's definitely a great little product and worth spending £10 [or your Boots points] on.

Soap&Glory Sunday #3

The Soap&Glory Sunday is back, yay! Today's product is a little miracle worker as are most of their products to be fair. Hocus Focus claims to be an instant visual flaw-softening illuminator which will diffuse the appearance of large pores, wrinkles and uneven pigmentation. That being said I don't think this hides any flaws whatsoever but applied as a primer this gives my skin the most amazing glow. It doesn't really contain shimmer it's more of a peachy pink illuminating lotion with a hint of green which sounds weird but I think that's to conceal any redness. This won't make you look like an alien I promise! Another thing I love apart from the colour and consistency is the scent. It's hard to describe but it smells heavenly and I do believe that it works wonders on my skin and makes it look pretty flawless when applied as a primer. You could also apply this on your cheekbones as a highlighter which I don't do as I prefer powder highlighters over liquid ones. The packaging has changed a few months ago so it comes in a squeezy tube now rather than a glass bottle with a pump. Seeing as this contains 30ml a little goes a long way and this has lasted me two years so far so I do believe that it's worth investing £13 especially when Soap&Glory is on 3 for 2 in Boots. I'll definitely repurchase this when I run out eventually!
