Hi lovelies!
I promised to review these beauties in my last post (a cheeky little Boots haul, which you can check out here) so here you go! The Revlon Matte and Lacquer Balms have caused quite a stir in the blogosphere recently. In case you're living under a rock and haven't heard of these yet, they are essentially the more lipstick-like version of the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. The range consists of ten matte and ten high shine shades which is quite impressive, and I'm sure there's a shade for everyone, whether you're after a subtle nude shade or a bright ooh la la, look at me being all fancy shade. I decided to try two of the matte shades, a light pink called Elusive and a bright fuchsia shade called Unapologetic. They have the same minty scent as the Balm Stains and feel ever so slightly tingly on the lips. I also like the matte packaging, the picture doesn't do it enough justice!
But on to the most important part of this review - these babies apply like a dream. They are creamy, super pigmented and just lovely to wear. The staying power is pretty great as well, Unapologetic lasts a good four to five hours until it starts to fade. Another thing I love about these is, that they don't dry out your lips or highlight any dry patches. I have never used a matte lipstick which felt and looked so amazing. Now they aren't the most matte lipsticks out there, I'd describe it as more of a satin finish, nonetheless the shades are just gorgeous. I adore Unapologetic as it's such a vibrant, almost neon shade which will look ah-mazing come summer. Elusive is a lovely every day shade which would go well with a smokey eye. I honestly cannot stop raving and already have my eye on some more shades.
Have you tried the Revlon Matte or Lacquer Balms? What's your favourite shade?
