Top 5 Tuesday - High Street Makeup Picks

Hiya lovely lot!

I just realised I haven't done a Top 3/5 Tuesday post since mid December! I really didn't think it was that long ago, so inspired by last Sunday's #bbloggers chat over on Twitter, I thought I'd share my top 5 high street makeup buys with you today. These products are definitely what I would call my holy grail items, although I'm not keen on that term. If you are on a budget, or generally don't want to splurge on makeup, here's a selection of products I would recommend to anyone.

Sleek blushers - £4.49 - I have raved about the Sleek blushers countless times (read my reviews here or here) so I won't go on about these too much. Not only are they super affordable, they are also second to none in terms of texture and pigmentation. The shade range is quite impressive too, and they are constantly coming up with limited edition shades. The shade on the top left of the picture is Mirrored Pink, the bottom right one is Rose Gold, one of their best sellers.

Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation - £9.99 - This is quite a new addition to my collection, but it was love at first use. With a medium but buildable coverage and gel-like texture this foundation ticks all the boxes. It never goes cakey or patchy and stays put all day. I had a hard time choosing between this and Rimmel Wake Me Up, but seeing as this gives a slightly dewy finish without the shimmer, I decided on the Bourjois offering.

Collection Lasting Perfection concealer - £4.19 - Need I say more? If you haven't tried this yet, you're missing out on the best concealer the high street has to offer! This little gem covers my horribly dark undereye circles and conceals any spots (even the most annoying ones!) all for under a fiver. Rumor has it there are people who don't get on with it but, to me this is the perfect concealer.

Revlon Lip Butters - £7.99 - Whether you prefer a bold lip or the more natural looking shades, Revlon have you covered. I love the lighter shades for a subtle daytime look because they aren't as pigmented as the darker shades, but still give a light wash of colour (see some swatches here). Don't get me wrong, I actually love that the darker shades are really pigmented! They are moisturising and slightly glossy, making them the perfect lip product.

Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder - £3.99 - It was a toss between the Soap&Glory One Heck Of A Blot powder and the Rimmel one, and although I enjoy using both, I went for this one, simply because it's even cheaper. It sets my foundation and stops my skin from getting too oily/shiny during the day. The only downside to this is the flimsy packaging, but for £3.99, I'm not going to complain.

I hoped you enjoyed reading today's post lovelies. I'm thinking of doing the same with my body and skincare favourites, do let me know what you think!

Have you spotted any favourites? What are your top 5 high street makeup picks?
