Favourites of 2012 Pt.1 - Makeup

Hello lovely people! Hope you're all fine.

It's been a while since my last post and I really miss blogging but the festive period is keeping me so so busy! In spite of it all I wanted to share this year's favourites with you guys, and decided to  split in into two or three posts, depending on whether I can find the time for two more posts. Today I'll start with my favourite makeup items I've thoroughly enjoyed using throughout the year.

Real Techniques Core Collection&Powder Brush - Although I love my Sigma F82 [which I reviewed here] the RT ones are my go-to brushes ever since I got them. The powder brush is the fluffiest brush ever and I feel it sets my makeup better than any other powder brush I've used so far. I'm also using every brush from the kit and if you don't own RT brushes yet, you should run out and get some!

Soap&Glory Kickass Concealer in light - This is the first concealer I've owned which has different shades aimed at different parts of the face. The lower pan is divided in two parts, the left one containing a lighter, yellowish shade to brighten the under-eye area and then a slightly darker, peachy shade to conceal any breakouts. The upper pan contains a setting powder which I haven't used yet as I always set my whole face with loose powder anyway.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in 200 Soft Beige - This is probably the most raved about high street foundation of 2012. Thanks to micro shimmer particles this gives you an amazing glow without looking overly glitzy and I absolutely love the sleek packaging and handy pump. It also matches my skintone perfectly which I only experienced with Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua before so this is a cheaper great alternative.

Essence Get Big Lashes Mascara - My favourite mascara ever! I've tried loads and loads of different mascaras, both high end and high street and this is the only one I've repurchased again and again. It lifts your lashes and gives them major lenght and volume. It doesn't smudge and even after eight hours this still looks freshly applied. Thumbs up hehe.

Benefit The Porefessional - As you can see it's the little trial size one which I keep for special occasions [yes, I'm weird like that, anyone else saving makeup to use on special days?] as I do think it's pore-minimising like it claims to be, but then again my pores aren't huge so I don't feel like splashing out on the full size.

Sleek Blusher in Rose Gold - I'm a sucker for anything peachy, add a golden glow and I'm sold! This has to be one of the prettiest blushers out there and I've been really impressed by it's staying power. It lasts all day long and you only need the tiniest amount of product as it's really pigmented. I also think £5.49 is a very reasonable price regarding it also has a mirror in the lid which makes it great for travelling! Definitely need to get my hands on a few more shades as all of the swatches look adorable!

MUA Undressed Palaette - So this is probably my favourite FAVOURITE makeup item of 2012. I was initially looking to purchase UD's Naked Palette and discovered the Undressed palette after seeing swatches comparing this one to the Naked one. I haven't seen MUA in Superdrug before so ordered a couple of things back then and fell in love with their products. The shades of the UD and MUA palette are almost all identical and I haven't used any other eyeshadow since I got this!

So this is the first part of my 2012 favourites, really hope you enjoyed reading! Next up should be my fave lip products this year [too many to show in this post ha] as well as my fave skin/nail/haircare items. Let me know what you think and which products you've loved this year!

  4. I genuinely squealed when I saw this post in my reading list. Great post! I recommended rimmel wake me up to a friend and she's in love with it. I save make up for special occasions too and that's why I kept my naked palette untouched for 6 months before I thought it was silly and used it to play around! Heard so much about the undressed palette - looks gorgeous x

  6. Fab products. I had the undressed palette and thought it was superb but I gave it to a friend as I already have the Naked palette. I've been looking at the Sleek blusher for months now too but I always put it back on the shelf, not sure why I haven't just bought it already!
