BEDM day 7 - pets

Hiya lovelies!

Today's all about my pets. I have had loads of guinea pigs over the years which is proper contradictory as I never liked animals in the first place. I remember being sent to a pony farm with my friend in primary school where I pretended to be sick so my mum would come and take me home which she did in the end. Thank you mummy!

My first pet probably had the shortest lifetime a pet has ever had. My brother, sister and I got a guinea pig each in march 1996. I named mine Winnie after Winnie the Pooh, one of my favourite stories :) Anyway, my sister was a mere one year old at that time when she decided three days were enough for my guinea pig to live so she grabbed it and threw it across our room which unfortunately resulted in a dead little piggy :(
Luckily my dad got me a new one the next day which I had about a year when we moved. I'm not too sure what happened to Winnie the 2nd, all I remember is we buried him in 1999 in my grandparents' garden, with my brother's and sister's piggies soon to follow.

In 2002 I got yet another one which I called Piglet. Again, I can't quite remember what happened to him, all I know is we got another two guinea pigs which were a tad hyper so one day I saw Piglet lying in his cage being as flat as a pancake. Apparently the other two ran around their little house in circles and made the house which was quite heavy fall onto Piglet.. Do you notice a pattern here? I always had bad luck with my pets so I never got a new one after the third has passed away. Now you might wonder why I had three guinea pigs when I don't even like animals. The answer is I have no idea, looking back I probably needed someone to talk to who could also keep a secret, as I didn't seem to have that much luck with my friends either at that time. But that's another story! Tell me about your pets! :)

  3. guinea pigs are the best animals I had 2 named Merlin and Scruff! I'm the exact same I have the worst luck with pets my first hamster fell down the stairs in his cage, the second found a hole in the chimney and fell down and my guinea pigs died on bonfire night years ago we think the neighbours fireworks gave them a heart attack. I'm getting guinea pigs this year at some point though I miss my ones so much! x x x
