Benefit That Gal

When I was around 17, I was literally obsessed with Benefit products. I used to ask for them for my birthday and for Christmas and mooched around their counters all the time. Now that I'm going on 24, I have tried quite a lot of their products and I have discovered some good ones along the way. However, I have to confess that the majority of their products just aren't cutting it for me. If you have read my post about my horrible Benefit makeover, you'll know where I'm coming from. 'How could she?' I hear you say. Let me put it this way - their packaging is utterly gorgeous, and they have to be one of the most creative brands out there, but performance-wise, their products are a let down most of the time. To me, that is! Today's product is no exception. The That Gal primer claims to brighten and smooth your complexion. It has a lovely raspberry scent which isn't overpowering at all and it glides on very well. I love how it feels on my skin too, the only downside to this is that it doesn't do anything. It literally sinks in like a moisturiser would, it doesn't brighten my skin or helps keep my makeup in place (it doesn't claim to do that, just thought I'd point that out). This is a shame as it could have been such a perfect little product. The packaging is well thought out, so you won't waste any product, and it's easy to carry around. It's not horrible, but I obviously wouldn't repurchase it; I much prefer their Porefessional!

I've added this disclaimer to my negative reviews in the past and I'll add it again today - just because a product doesn't work for me, doesn't mean it won't work for you. I just think negative reviews can help you save a few quid (22.50 in this case), just as positive reviews can make you want to run out and buy a product, but that's just my opinion.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on That Gal!

  1. I felt the same about this. It just didn't do enough for my dry skin.
