The Lip Product Addict Tag

Hiya lovelies, I hope you are all well!

You may or may not have noticed my absence during the past month. This was because my dissertation was due yesterday, and I also started my first proper job this month, so I was forced to take a break from blogging, Twitter and Instagram (..to become an adult. I'm not sure how I like this!). I have to admit I enjoyed it at first, simply because all the pressure I put on myself before was gone, but towards the end I really missed blogging and of course interacting with other bloggers! So thank you for bearing with me guys :)

To ease myself back into it, I thought I'd do the Lip Product Addict Tag created by the lovely ladies Amelia Liana and Essie Button. Hope you enjoy!

1. Favourite balm/treatment
This was an easy one. I chose the Nuxe RĂªve de Miel lip balm because it's one of the very few lip balms that actually heals dry and chapped lips. It smells divine and although the texture is quite unusual, it has quickly become a staple in my routine.

2. Best eye-catching red
I thought I didn't own any reds, turns out I own six. Six is a lot for someone who wears red lipstick twice a year, eh? What can I say, I love my coral and pink shades. The Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107 is a deep red shade which is perfect for autumn/winter. I also absolutely love the formula of that range, it's moisturising, long-lasting and super pigmented.

3. Best Luxury & Best Drugstore
It was a toss-up between the Dior Addict High Shine lipstick and the YSL Rouge Volupte for luxury. I decided to go for the Dior one in Backstage Pink, simply because it doesn't settle into the fine lines of my lips like the YSL ones tend to do. For drugstore I chose the L'Oreal Color Riche in Julianne's Nude. It's the most perfect pinky-nude lipstick I have ever come across and I've been wearing it every single day for the past three weeks. This has to be one of my favourite lipstick formulas of all time!

4. Best MAC lipstick
Easy! Coral Bliss was the first MAC lipstick I bought and it's my favourite to date. It's a muted coral shade with a Cremesheen finish, perfect for this time of year.

5. The most disappointing
There were a mere two lip products in my ridiculous collection that I thought were a bit of a let down, and even that is only due to the shades. The Revlon ColorBurst lip gloss in Sunbaked and the Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial are both brown-ish shades which look horrible against my skin tone and make my teeth look awfully yellow. Not a good look! Formula-wise, they are both great, which makes it even more disappointing.

6. Liner - yes or no?
Well - no. If I had the patience and time to apply lip liner in the am, I'd say yes, because I think it makes everything look that bit neater, but given that I'm almost always running late, I'm skipping this step.

7. Best gloss?
I'm a lipstick kind of girl and rarely wear gloss, but my favourite has to be the Revlon ColorBurst gloss in the shade Papaya. The pigmentation is great and they are not sticky in the slightest. They also apply easily and I think they are quite similar to Tanya Burr's lip glosses which I love!

8. Something Extra!
I cheekily added in two extra products (I could have chosen ten more to be honest, I really had a tough time here, you see). The first one being the L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipstick in Dating Coral, which is ahh-mazing. It smells lovely and the pigmentation and staying power are great for a sheer lipstick. Another product I just had to add in were the Revlon lip butters, especially Juicy Papaya which is a lovely light peachy shade. I looove me some lip butters!

So these are my picks! I really enjoyed this tag, although it was tough deciding which lipsticks to go for in each category. I'd love to read (or watch, if you did it on YouTube) your answers! Feel free to leave your links in the comments below.
